The Neapolitan Mastiff Club (UK)
Breed Welfare
Each year many Neapolitans end up in rescue through no fault of their own. The majority of them are abandoned and due to ignorance or neglect, where the dogs are in a very poor state. We have successfully re-homed dogs that have been found wandering on a motorway, tied up to railings and left there as well as being seized in police raids. These unique creatures need long term loving and knowledgeable homes, therefore it has to be that special person who takes them on. To this end we have a small band of members who do whatever is necessary to re-home these dogs. These people do it on a voluntary basis and pay for it out of their own pockets. But this has highlighted a major problem, in that there is just too many dogs coming through for rescue and not enough money to help them all. So your sponsorship is desperately needed, it will help pay for, Food - Vet bill’s – kennel fees, to name but a few. The aims of welfare is to, assess the dogs, do vet checks on the dogs, neuter as required, do home checks and then do follow up home checks, plus microchip every rescue dog. But in order to achieve this we need to be able to keep the dogs in secure kennels for an interim assessment period and much more money is required for this. Here are some of the dogs who have recently received our help.
WITH YOUR HELP WE KNOW WE CAN DO MORE!
Permanent, caring homes are always required for dogs which will be of varing ages and needs. PLEASE KEEP CHECKING THIS PAGE OUT FOR UPDATES. Most welfare cases come about because the needs of the breed are not understood, so know the breed before you buy that cute little puppy.
